Privacy Policy

Plain language on what we collect, why we use it, and how to reach us.

The City Edit, NYC respects your privacy. We collect the information needed to run the edit, keep your account useful, and understand what is working on the site. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

If you create an account, we collect your email address, sign-in details from our authentication provider, and any profile information you choose to add. If you save events or Ella plans, we store those saves so they are available when you come back.

If you subscribe to The Weekly Edit, we collect your email address and subscription status. If you submit an event or brand listing, we collect the details you provide, including event information, links, contact details, and submission status.

Ella and automated features

When you use Ella or link-based autofill, we may process your prompt, preferences, pasted URLs, and relevant listing context through AI tools so the feature can respond. We use these tools to generate plans or draft structured submission details; we do not use them to publish brand content without review.

Analytics, affiliates, and payments

With your permission, we use analytics in aggregate to see which pages, neighborhoods, categories, and actions are useful. Some shopping links may be affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Payments are not yet live and will open soon; when enabled, payment details will be handled by Stripe, not stored directly by us.

We do not sell your personal information or use the app to track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising.

Service providers

We use trusted providers for hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, affiliate links, AI features, and payments. They process information only as needed to provide those services.

Account data and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated saved events, saved plans, profile details, and submission contact information by emailing hello@thecityeditnyc.com. We may keep limited records when required for security, legal, fraud-prevention, or financial reporting purposes.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, change cookie preferences, or email us to ask what we hold about you or request deletion where applicable.
