Built in 1908 and still spinning, the Central Park Carousel is one of New York's most beloved and accessible family destinations.
The Central Park Carousel near the 65th Street Transverse has been a fixture of the park since 1871. The current carousel, installed in 1951, features 57 hand-carved wooden horses and runs from late March through October. Rides are $3.50 per person. Hours vary by season and weather; typically 10am to 6pm daily during peak season, with closures in rain.
